Vodafone Germany plans to have its own VDSL network

Vodafone Germany plans to establish its own VDSL network, with a pilot project to start next year, Digitalfernsehen.de reported, citing Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). Last year's takeover of Kabel Deutschland, and leasing VDSL connections from Deutsche Telekom, place Vodafone in a good position to develop this service, it said. CEO Jens Schulte-Bockum told FAZ that offering its own VDSL connections would complement its cable network and its marketing of Deutsche Telekom VDSL leased lines well.
