Vodafone Ghana says no obligation to list on bourse

Monday 8 April 2019 | 13:22 CET | News
Vodafone Ghana says it is not averse to listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) for the public to benefit from the fortunes of the company but it is under no obligation to do so, reports Ghanaweb. Kofi Yamoah, CEO of the GSE, said the government should compel Vodafone to list on the bourse after acquiring the 2 x 5 MHz lot in the 800 MHz spectrum band for 4G recently. Yamoah also recalled that when Ghana Telecom was sold to Vodafone in 2008, one of the conditions was that Vodafone would list on the GSE so Ghanaians could benefit from its fortunes, but to date, that has not happened.
