Vodafone Group completes transfer of Safaricom stake to Vodacom

Vodafone Group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Vodafone International has completed the transfer of a 35 percent indirect shareholding in Kenyan operator Safaricom to Vodacom Group, Vodafone's sub-Saharan African subsidiary. As part of the deal, Vodafone received 233.5 million new shares in Vodacom, increasing Vodafone Group's shareholding in Vodacom from 65.0 percent to 69.7 percent. Vodafone retains an indirect stake of 5 percent in Safaricom.
