Vodafone is front-runner to buy Telenor India - report

Vodafone is the frontrunner to acquire Telenor's operations in India, ET reports, citing two unnamed people with knowledge of the matter. According to the same sources, it is yet unclear whether the agreement is restricted to spectrum or includes the company as well. Airwaves in the 1800 MHz band that can be used to provide 4G services but currently used to offer 2G by Telenor India will be valued at around USD 1 billion (approximately INR 68 billion), the sources added.
