Vodafone Italia signs IoT development deal with Arduino

Vodafone Italia has announced a partnership with open source electronic hardware manufacturer Arduino to develop new applications in the Internet of Things field. The deal will combine Arduino's expertise in circuit board electronics and software with the NB-IoT (narrowband Internet of Things) network being rolled out by Vodafone all over Italy. In November the operator pledged to invest over EUR 10 million to bring NB-IoT services to the whole of Italy by March 2019. The operator said the network will be used to connect various different products, including smart bins as well as gas, water
