Vodafone Italia told to remove ads for 1Gbps fibre service

A hearing held at Italy's self-regulatory advertising watchdog, IAP, has resulted in a ruling ordering Vodafone Italia to stop broadcasting TV and online ads for its 'IperFibra' FTTH service, reports website Cor.com. The ruling upheld a complaint lodged by broadband rival Fastweb against the misleading nature of the operator's campaigns, above all slogans such as "a fibre that's never been seen!", "This isn't fibre! It's Vodafone's Iperfibra!" and claims such as "today in Milan, Bologna and Turin browse at up to 1 Gigabit per second" and "available from EUR 25". The IAP will publish the
