Vodafone launches real-time app for technician appointments

Vodafone Germany has launched a new smartphone app called 'myTechie' to inform customers in real-time about the location and expected arrival time of their Vodafone cable technicians. Vodafone customers will receive a link to myTechie on the day of their scheduled Vodafone appointment and can follow their technician via GPS to gauge their movements, location and expected arrival time. Customers can also see their technician’s name and receive information for a Vodafone contact hotline.

Vodafone said a pilot test of the app with 200 customers resulted in zero late or canceled appointments and a 100 percent customer satisfaction rate. Vodafone plans to add more features to the app going forward, like allowing customers to rate their Vodafone technicians and contact them directly during journey times. Vodafone will roll out the app, which was developed in its in-house software laboratory crvsh, gradually throughout 2018.
