Vodafone NL to start Wi-Fi in large cities

Vodafone Netherlands will use small cells and Wi-Fi in the largest cities in the Netherlands. Vodafone NL head of network Matthia Sauder said the mobile operator is currently deploying a 4G network in the 800-MHz band. The operator began its "Fast Forward" campaign last year, upgrading existing sites with new Single RAN equipment and active antennas. Vodafone NL has been testing the 800 spectrum since the first quarter, especially in and around its offices. The operator now wants to fill in the macro network with small cells, or smaller antennas with a smaller range. These have the advantage
