Vodafone NZ says will maintain 2G as long as demand

Friday 5 August 2016 | 15:40 CET | News
Vodafone New Zealand has backed away from naming a date for the closure of its 2G voice network, saying it will keep the service as long as there is "reasonable demand" for it, stuff.co.nz reports. The statement came after the company accused rival Spark of putting out "pretty misleading ads about 2G". Spark billboards said Vodafone's 2G network was "shutting down" and encouraged consumers to switch to its Skinny service "before you're ditched".
