Vodafone, O2 attack Ofcom over 4G launch decision

Tuesday 21 August 2012 | 15:08 CET | News
Vodafone has attacked UK regulator Ofcom after it gave the go ahead for rival Everything Everywhere to using existing spectrum to launch 4G mobile services later in 2012, reports The Telegraph. Vodafone said that Ofcom had shown a 'careless disregard' for consumers and the economy by allowing the company to launch 4G services ahead of its rivals. In a statement, Vodafone said it was shocked by the decision and that Ofcom had 'refused to properly consider the competitive distortion created by allowing one operator to run services before the ground has been laid for a fully competitive market'.
