Vodafone prepared to invest in UK fibre-optic company

Vodafone has joined calls for BT and Openreach to be split up to share fibre-optic cables between providers, reports The Guardian. Vodafone Group CEO Vittorio Colao said it would be prepared to invest in any new company that could deliver fibre to Vodafone and other providers, whether it is an independent Openreach or similar company. His comments came as Vodafone issued a trading update for the three months to end-June. A condition for any Vodafone investment in a national broadband entity would be that all ISPs have equal access to BT cables. Colao said any new infrastructure should offer
