
Vodafone Romania launched what it calls the first 5G subscriptions on the Romanian market, Red Infinity 17 and Red Infinity 25. The new packages cost EUR 17 and EUR 25 per month respectively and are offered with Xiaomi's 5G compatible smartphone Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 128GB Dual SIM 5G.
The phone is offered at a EUR 25 monthly installment and an advance payment of EUR 216 with Red Infinity 17 or at EUR 30 per month and EUR 96 upfront with the alternative package. Initially, the operator's 5G speeds are available in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and the 'Mamaia' Black Sea resort.
Vodafone Romania became the first local operator to launch 5G services after activating its first 5G radio stations on 15 May. Rival RCS&RDS will also test this technology in Bucharest's Old Town on 27 June with Ericsson's backing.
