Vodafone seeks partners in bid for Ethiopia licence

Vodafone has started forming partnerships ahead of making an offer for the new licenses to be awarded by Ethiopia, which is opening its telecom industry to international companies, reports Bloomberg. Vodafone has teamed up with its subsidiaries Vodacom Group and Kenyan operator Safaricom, according to the Kenyan company's CFO, Sateesh Kamath. The companies have engaged with CDC Group, the UK development-finance institution, to assess interest in joining their bid, people with knowledge of the matter said.
