Vodafone selects Nokia to help build LTE network on Moon

Vodafone Germany has appointed Nokia as its technology partner as part of its plan to launch the the first 4G network on the Moon to support a mission from PTScientists in 2019. Vodafone will use its network expertise to set up a 4G network connection for two Audi lunar rovers to a base station in the Autonomous Landing and Navigation Module (ALINA), while Nokia will create a space-grade Ultra Compact Network weighing less than one kilo.
