Vodafone Spain reports Covid-driven surge in pay-TV consumption as free-to-air declines

Despite lockdown easing, Spanish viewers spent a quarter more time watching television in June 2020 than in February before the Covid-19 crisis struck, according to Vodafone Spain. Data sourced from the company's 1.5 million Vodafone TV clients also showed a sharp increase in viewing time dedicated to pay-TV content, up 159 percent, while consumption of free-to-air broadcasting fell 5-10 percent.
