Vodafone Spain to launch FTTH services in April
Vodafone Spain has announced that it will begin offering fibre optic services on 01 April. According to the director of its business unit, Andres Vicente, the service will cover 800,000 households. However, no details were provided regarding speeds or prices.

The newly-announced launch marks the first stage in the operator’s plan to bring fibre broadband services to 6 million homes and businesses in 50 major cities by September 2017. The EUR 500 million project to develop a fibre-optic network in partnership with Orange was announced in March last year when the operators stated they would bring FTTH services to 12 towns initially, namely, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante, Cordoba, Seville, Malaga, Vigo, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Hospitalet and Badalona.
