Vodafone tests Effect Photonics optical SoCs on mobile network

Vodafone has started testing the integration of a System-on-a-Chip (SoC) from Effect Photonics, based in Eindhoven. These relatively new optical SoCs send and process data based on light signals via laser. This improves the performance of the mobile network while requiring less energy.
