Vodafone to conduct 5G-based real time telesurgery demo at MWC

Vodafone Spain is teaming up with Barcelona's Hospital Clinic and medical training specialist Advances in Surgery (AIS) Channel to stream a telesurgery operation in real time using 5G technology at Mobile World Congress, reports El Pais. On 27 February a team of doctors will perform a gastrointestinal intervention streamed live from Hospital Clinic's Optimus operating room, which has been equipped with Vodafone's 5G technology and is described as one of the most advanced in the world. A surgeon at MWC's host venue (Fira de Barcelona) will oversee the intervention in real time and guide the
