Vodafone to expand mobile network at summer festivals

Thursday 25 June 2015 | 16:06 CET | News
Vodafone Germany said it has expanded its mobile network for the 50 largest open air music festivals this summer by 35 percent compared to last year. At large events such as Ruhr in Love, Deichbrand Rockfestival am Meer, Wacken Open Air, AntureOne and Summer Breeze, the provider will install mobile stations to increase reception despite the large masses. Vodafone analysed the connection and user figures from last year to expand the network purposefully. The base stations will provide festival visitors with UMTS as well as LTE technology.
