Vodafone to offer web, TV over BT Openreach FTTC - report

Mobile operator Vodafone UK will launch home broadband this spring and add a cloud-based TV service later in the year using BT Openreach's FTTC network, to reach a larger population and offer higher speeds than traditional exchanges, a person familiar with the plans told the Financial Times. The company is set to reveal its plan to enter the multiplay market in the coming weeks. Vodafone will connect its existing fibre broadband network to some 1,000 BT exchanges reaching over 80 percent of the country by the summer. Technical trials have already begun.
