Vodafone Turkey tests smart parking platform with Huawei

Wednesday 2 November 2016 | 12:23 CET | News
Vodafone Turkey tested a smart parking platform in Istanbul in cooperation with Huawei as part of the 'TechCity' (Teknoloji sehri) project. The trial was run using Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology. During the trial, a sensor placed under the asphalt successfully tracked the cars in the park. It was possible to remotely monitor the information about the parking space, namely if it was empty or full, through a smartphone application. Thanks to this feature of the system, Istanbul residents have the possibility to reserve the parking place in the locality where they want to go.
