Vodafone UK shelves plans for TV service

Vodafone UK has shelved plans to launch a TV service, as the operator focuses on turning around its mobile business and building its broadband share. CEO Vittorio Colao said at the presentation of the company's quarterly results that the service was ready and could be launched "within weeks" if "suddenly TV becomes essential", but that Vodafone now has other higher priorities, the Daily Telegraph reported. Colao said there were no longer any firm plans to introduce the service commercially. Vodafone has been reported to be preparing a pay-TV service since it relaunched its home broadband
