Volkswagen sets up 5G standalone network at main site in Wolfsburg

German carmaker Volkswagen said it has set up a 5G standalone network at its main plant in Wolfsburg to supply the main production development centre and the pilot hall. Volkswagen is now testing the 5G campus network with a view to its potential expansion for industrial production in the future. The company will test wireless uploading of data to manufactured vehicles. It uses frequencies at 3.7 GHz to 3.8 GHz with 100 MHz bandwidth.
