Voo imposes daily limit on EU roam like home

Friday 19 May 2017 | 10:10 CET | News
Belgian cable operator Voo has obtained a derogation from the EU's new roaming rules coming into effect in mid-June, the regulator BIPT confirmed to Le Soir. As a MVNO, the company faces higher costs and no revenue from roaming, allowing it to seek an exception to the 'roam like home' rules and apply surcharges in some cases. Voo said its mobile customers will be subject to daily limits while roaming in the EU of 60 minutes of calls, 60 SMS and 200 MB. Above this they will pay 1.2 cents per SMS, 0.7 cents per MB and 3.8 cents per minute.
