
Russian bank VTB plans to sell its stake in the mobile operator Tele2 Russia to the national operator Rostelecom, reports Comnews.ru. Andrey Kostin, the president of the bank, told journalists at the Sochi Investors Forum that a final decision on the issue will be taken within a month.
Tele2 Russia is currently owned by the company T2 RTK Holding. Rostelecom owns a 45 percent stake in this company. The rest is held by a consortium formed by VTB, Invitel BV and bank Rossiya, with stakes of 50 percent, 40 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
Separately, Vedemosti reports that VTB plans to launch its own MVNO in September. Anatoliy Pechatnikov, the deputy president of the bank, said the MVNO will work on the Tele2 Russia network.
There were already 18 MVNOs on the network of Tele2 Russia at the end of 2018.
