Wallonia agrees to halve mobile masts tax

The government of the Belgian region of Wallonia has reached an agreement with mobile operators to lower the tax on antenna masts in exchange for increased investments in the region. Budget minister Christophe Lacroix, responding to questions from members of the regional parliament, said that tax would fall from EUR 22 million to EUR 10 million per year, for a period of four years, reports L'Echo. In return, the mobile operators Proximus, Base and Orange agreed to invest in improving network coverage in Wallonia, especially in so-called 'white' or 'grey' zones with poor reception. The
