Walmart completes acquisition of Flipkart controlling stake

US-based retailer Walmart has completed its acquisition of a controlling stake in Indian e-commerce portal Flipkart. Walmart holds 77 percent of the shares, while Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, Tencent, Tiger Global and Microsoft are the remaining shareholders. Flipkart will continue under the same management, with Walmart representatives joining the company's board.
