US retailer Walmart has launched Walmart Pay, a new in-store payment feature in the Walmart app. The payment solution works with any iOS or Android device, at any checkout lane, and with any major credit, debit, pre-paid or Walmart gift card. The m-payment feature will be introduced in select stores in December, with a nationwide launch due to be completed in the first half of 2016. To use the function, shoppers must open the Walmart app, choose Walmart Pay and activate the camera. At any time during the checkout, they scan the code displayed at the register. The checkout staff scans and bags the items. An e-receipt is then sent to the app and can be viewed at any time.
