WarnerMedia to rebrand HBO Now, end HBO Go app

Tuesday 16 June 2020 | 11:18 CET | News
WarnerMedia, which officially launched its HBO Max subscription streaming service late last month, will be rebranding HBO Now as "HBO" over the next few months, Variety reported. Existing HBO Now customers will have access to the service through the rebranded HBO app on the platforms where it remains available, including Roku and Amazon Fire TV, as well as play.hbo.com. Variety explained that distribution deals are blocking the way for HBO Max to cover all content. Until these issues are resolved, WarnerMedia will not be able to fully retire the HBO Now/HBO legacy service.
