Wearable device sales to rise 17% in 2017 - Gartner

The global wearables market is set to increase sales to 310.4 million devices in 2017, a 16.7 percent rise compared to 2016, according to a report from Gartner. The market will be led by Bluetooth audio headsets, with sales rising to 150.0 million units from 128.5 million the year earlier, followed by wristbands and smartwatches, with sales of 44.1 million and 41.5 million respectively. However, the report added that smartwatches are by far the most profitable wearable device, with total global revenues set to reach USD 17.4 billion in 2021, boosted by the relatively stable overall ASP
