Wearables sales jump 76% to 99 mln in Q4

A study by Futuresource Consulting revealed that 99 million wearables were sold across all categories in the fourth quarter, up 76 percent from the year before. The retail value reached USD 24 billion, increasing by 267 percent on the back of higher average prices per device and the widely expanding connected watch category, were Apple quickly established itself as an outright market. In terms of revenues, smartwatches overtook activity trackers for the first time.
