WhatsApp close to overtaking Facebook - survey

Facebook is the most popular social network in the Netherlands, with around three-quarters (76%) of the Dutch having a profile on the site. According to the survey by market researcher Multiscope, WhatsApp comes second with 68 percent, followed by LinkedIn with 45 percent. Consumers say the most important reason to use the site is to keep in touch with friends, acquaintances and old contacts, while over four in ten also use the sites to share and view photos.
