
Wi-Lan sues mobile, laptop makers over Bluetooth products

Licensing company Wi-Lan has launched a patent infringement suit against most of the major manufacturers in the mobile phone and computer industries. The suit filed in the District Court for the Eastern District of Texas accuses the compaies of infringement of Wi-Lan's US Patent No. 5,515,369 in mobile phones and laptops using Bluetooth. The lawsuit names Acer, Apple, Atheros Communications, Belkin, Broadcom, Dell, D-Link, Gateway, HP, Intel, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Marvell Semiconductor, Motorola, Personal Communications Devices, Sony, Texas Instruments, Toshiba and UTStarcom.
