Wiewiorowski confirmed as new European Data Protection Supervisor

Acting European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiorowski has been confirmed as EDPS for the next 5 years following voting at the Committee of the Permanent Representatives of the Governments of the Member States to the European Union (Coreper) and at the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament (LIBE). Wiewiorowski has been serving as the interim EDPS since the death of Giovanni Buttarelli in August.
