Wind Q2 sales down 9%, market to remain challenging in H2

Wednesday 6 August 2014 | 11:20 CET | News
Italian operator Wind reported a 9 percent year-on-year decline in second-quarter revenue to EUR 1.147 billion and warned the Italian market was weak and would remain challenging in the second half of the year. It said however that its market share improved as customer numbers declined at a lower rate than in the sector overall. Mobile service revenue fell 11 percent to EUR 737 million, as an 18 percent jump in mobile broadband sales failed to offset continuing price competition, declining SMS usage and an unfavourable year-on-year comparison due to 2013's cut in mobile termination rates.
