WOM Chile, Huawei launch 5G trials

Wednesday 20 March 2019 | 11:10 CET | News
Chile's WOM has become the latest operator to launch 5G trials following rivals Entel, Claro and Movistar, reports website Pisapapeles. The company teamed up with technological partner Huawei for the tests conducted via 40MHz of available spectrum on the 3.5GHz band at its offices, rather than in the laboratories used by rival operators. The partners used a Huawei 5G router allowing download speeds of up to 2GB to carry out a number of trials, including watching 8K videos, reaching a maximum speed of 722Mbps, said the report.
