World internet governance report calls for no govt backdoors

Governments should resist the urge to push private companies into enforcing national cybersecurity and ensure consumers have greater control of how their personal data is used, according to the report 'One Internet' published by the Global Commission for Internet Governance. The report is the result of two years of work by the Commission, backed by the independent research institutes Centre for International Governance Innovation and Chatham House. The 29 commissioners, led by former Sweden PM Carl Bildt, and 45 research advisers were asked to articulate a strategic vision for internet
