Xiaomi, Alipay to develop smart wristband for m-payments

Chinese smartphone producer Xiaomi has signed a partnership agreement with Alibaba's subsidiary Alipay to create wearable payment devices, South China Morning Post reports, citing a Xiaomi statement. The partners will develop wearable devices that are linked to the users' identity so that they can make mobile payments with the wristband. The partnership also covers other applications for the wristband such as opening hotel room doors or buying cinema tickets.
