Xiaomi expects to launch first 4G device soon

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi confirmed that it expects to launch its first 4G-enabled smatphone soon, Focus Taiwan reports. Company president Bin Lin declined to give a timetable for the launch. Xiaomi expects to ship nearly 60 million smartphones this year compared to 18.7 million the previous year. The company made the comments at the launch of its new smartphone Hong-mi (meaning Red Rice) Note in Taiwan. It will sell for TWD 4,999 (USD 166) exclusively through PChome Online, a web portal and operator of online shopping services in Taiwan, the Digitimes reported. The Hong-mi Note
