Xiaomi launches first Android Go phone in India

Xiaomi released its first Android Go phone, the Redmi Go, in India at an event in New Delhi. Powered by the Go version of Android 8.1 Oreo, which is designed for low-memory, entry-level smartphones, the device has a 5-inch 720p 16:9 screen, two cameras of 8 and 5 megapixels, 1GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor up to 1.4GHz, 3,000mAh battery and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The Redmi Go retails at INR 4,499 and will go on sale 22 March on Xiaomi's site, before expanding to other retail channels.
