Xiaomi sells over 2 mln phones in 12 hours
Xiaomi announced a new sales record from its 'MiFanFest', selling 2.12 million phones in 12 hours. The company generated total revenue of CNY 2.08 billion during the sale, also shifting 770,000 of its smart appliances, 38,600 Mi TVs, 208,000 of the Mi Band, 79,000 Mi Wi-Fi units and 247,000 Mi power strips.

Xiaomi H1 smartphone sales up 33%

Xiaomi announced sales of 34.7 million smartphones in the first half of 2015, a 33 percent year-on-year increase. While the growth was strong, it leaves the company behind on its full-year sales target. Xiaomi targets sales of 80-100 million smartphones this year, up from 61.1 million last year, its CEO Lei Jun said earlier this year. The company most recently expanded to its first market outside Asia for smartphones, Brazil.

Xiaomi India has announced on its Facebook page that the global premiere of the company's next smartphone dubbed 'i' will be on 23 April. Customers can register to attend Xiaomi's global Mi phone premiere in New Delhi on 23 April. Registrations end on 15 April.

Xiaomi agrees new distribution deals in India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced a distribution agreement with Amazon in India. The company also plans to work with online shopping site Snapdeal and the retail chain The Mobile Stores (300 shops) to distribute its products in India. Xiaomi first launched on the Indian market last summer, with the e-commerce site Flipkart.

Xiaomi, Alipay to develop smart wristband for m-payments

Chinese smartphone producer Xiaomi has signed a partnership agreement with Alibaba's subsidiary Alipay to create wearable payment devices, South China Morning Post reports, citing a Xiaomi statement. The partners will develop wearable devices that are linked to the users' identity so that they can make mobile payments with the wristband. The partnership also covers other applications for the wristband such as opening hotel room doors or buying cinema tickets.

Xiaomi launches pink version of Mi Note smartphone

Chinese device manufacturer Xiaomi has launched a Pink version of the Xiaomi Mi Note smartphone. The device, called the "Mi Note Pink Edition", comes with a curved 5.7-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 3 and 1920x1080 resolution, 13 megapixel camera with Sony sensor and OIS, 4 megapixel front camera, 3,000 mAh battery, 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor and 2 GB RAM. It will be available for CNY 1,699.

Chinese electronics producer Xiaomi has launched a new variant of its Mi TV 2, the 40-inch display model. Xiaomi initially introduced its Mi TV 2 in 2014. Xiaomi, Li Ning develop 'smart' running shoes

Chinese sportswear company Li Ning has partnered with smartphone producer Xiaomi to develop 'smart' running shoes. In this project, Li Ning will cooperate with Huami Technology, the fitness wearable company behind the Mi band and part of the Xiaomi Grup, Reuters reports.
