XL Axiata to invest USD 500 mln in triple-play service launch

Indonesian mobile operator XL Axiata has set aside USD 500 million to invest in a new triple play service that will include pay-TV, fixed-line and broadband connection. The operator plans to spend the total amount of USD 500 million in stages over the next five years, Jakarta Globe reports. The company plans to either secure external funding by issuing bonds or other alternative financing. "We're looking at several options for our new pay TV business, partnering with other pay-TV companies or acquiring them", said XL Axiata president director Dian Siswarini.
