Yahoo, ACLU ask US govt to declassify surveillance order

Yahoo has asked James Clapper, the US director of National Intelligence, to declassify a surveillance order the company had received so it can respond to reports it set up a special programme last year to scan all Yahoo incoming user emails, Reuters reported. Separately, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a motion before the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court asking it to release the Yahoo order and over 20 other significant rulings dating back more than a decade. The requests follow reports earlier this month that Yahoo secretly installed custom software to search all incoming
