Yahoo gets more info from law enforcement on hack attack

Thursday 10 November 2016 | 09:02 CET | News
Yahoo! said law enforcement officials had started sharing additional data with the company on the hacking attack on its network. In a SEC filing, Yahoo said that law enforcement authorities began on 07 November sharing certain data that they indicated was provided by a hacker who claimed the information was Yahoo user account data. Yahoo said it will, with the assistance of its forensic experts, analyze and investigate the hacker's claim that the data is Yahoo user account data. A similar claim was made by the hacker in late July, but Yahoo was unable to independently verify the information.
