Yahoo introduces phone-based login system

Monday 16 March 2015 | 10:04 CET | News
Yahoo has announced a new phone-based login system that removes the need for a password. Once users have enabled 'on-demand passwords' via their security settings, they enter their phone number to receive a verification code from Yahoo in order to log into their account. A new password is texted directly to the user's mobile phone every time they choose to sign in. Yahoo said its new authentication service aims to ease anxiety around password memorisation and improve security for users. The feature is only available for US users for the time being.
