Yahoo, KKR, Silver Lake also vying for Hulu - report
Yahoo, KKR and Silver Lake have made separate bids for video website Hulu, reports Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter. This raises the number of reported bidders to seven, including Peter Chernin in partnership with Providence Equity, Guggenheim Digital Media and pay TV operators Time Warner Cable and DirecTV. One of the potential buyers has offered USD 830 million or more, including around USD 330 million in assumed debt, one of the people said. Hulu, Yahoo, KKR and Silver Lake refused to comment on the matter. Hulu is owned by Walt Disney, News Corp and Comcast. People with knowledge of the situation told AllThingsD earlier this month that Yahoo was holding exploratory talks with Hulu. Reuters reported in April that Chernin, who helped found Hulu as a News Corp president, had offered to buy the company for USD 500 million.
