
Yahoo launches mobile newstand for tablets

Yahoo! announced a new personalised content offering called Livestand. Targeting first tablets and later mobile phone users, Livestand will initially include Yahoo's full range of content, including Sports, News, Finance, Flickr, omg!, and the Yahoo! Contributor Network. Users will have a selection of content from a wide variety of sources, which will be customised according to their interests, time of day, and location. Yahoo plans to launch iPad and Android apps for Livestand in the first half of this year, as well as a pltform for advertisers and publishers to introduce their own customised offerings. Mobile phone and browser versions of Livestand will follow later.
