Yahoo!, Spotify agree cross-promotion deal
Yahoo! agreed a deal to promote the Spotify digital music service across its network of sites. The global content distribution and promotion agreement will enable Yahoo! to integrate and promote Spotify's on-demand music service on Yahoo!'s Media Network, which reaches nearly 700 million unique users monthly. Spotify will initially roll out to Yahoo! Music and later be integrated globally across the rest of Yahoo!, including its entertainment sites like Yahoo! Movies and omg!. The Spotify integration on Yahoo! entertainment sites will feature Spotify's embedded play button, enabling Yahoo! users to listen to music while remaining on Yahoo! sites. In turn, Yahoo! will create an app for Spotify's platform featuring Yahoo! original entertainment content, such as artist profiles and music programmes, which will reach Spotify's more than 10 million users.
