Yahoo to close Mexico, Argentina offices

Yahoo is to shut down its offices in Mexico and Argentina in a bid to trim costs, according to an unnamed company spokesperson cited by TechCrunch. "Yahoo is focused on maximising growth," said the spokesperson, adding that "Latin America is an important region for Yahoo and we will continue to invest in the people and products there." The company declined to specify how many jobs were affected by the closures of the Mexico City and Buenos Aires offices, but a source said it will be less than 50 people. Yahoo's Latin American operations will now be run from its offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil,
