Yandex pre-installs apps on Android devices in Russia

Russian internet search engine Yandex has resumed pre-installation of its applications and other services on Android-powered smartphones in Russia, reports Vedomosti. The company has become able to do so after a decision from the federal competition regulator FAS on activities of Google in the Russian market and agreements concluded with several distributors. Yandex claims that the change has already had a positive impact on its market share in Russia. At the end of 2015, FAS recognised that Google violated the Law on Competition by abusing its dominant position in the market for mobile
